Cards
Borrowers who do not reside within the city limits
of Urbana (Cunningham Township) are required to pay a tax substitute
fee to obtain a library card. The fee covers service to all members
of a household living at the same address, and a separate card
is issued to each household member.
Non-resident tax substitute fees are determined
by calculating the library tax the borrower's property would be
assessed if it were annexed to the City of Urbana, and rounding
up to the next $5.00 increment. If you reside ouside the city limits
of Urbana, call the Circulation Department at 367-4057 for more
information on fees and how to apply for a non-resident library
card.
In accordance with Illinois State Law, that requires
non-resident library cards be purchased at the nearest public library,
The Urbana Free Library offers non-resident cards to all addresses
within Urbana School District #116.
Paid non-resident library cards are issued for
one year and may be paid annually or in three, four month installments. |
