Loud-R Electronic Ear is a simple amplification device that resembles a phone. You can use it in conversations with our staff or to better hear the voices around you. Located in the Adult Services, Children’s Services, and the Archives.
Telesensory Aladdin Genie
Telesensory Aladdin Genie is a magnification system that allows printed material to be enlarged onto an adjacent monitor. Material can be viewed in full color, or you can select your own foreground and background display colors to make viewing easier. Located in the Adult Services.
ScreenScan
ScreenScan is a device attached to a microfilm/fiche reader. It allows you to scan the image on the microfilm screen and download it to the adjacent computer, where you can view or print the image in an enlarged format. Located in the Archives.
Adjustable-height Workstation
Adjustable-height workstations are tables that can be raised or lowered to accommodate your individual needs. Located in the Adult Services, Children’s Department, and Archives.
21” Monitor
21” monitors provide larger-than-normal viewing areas. They are particularly useful when you want to enlarge the text on the screen. Located in the Adult Services, Children’s Department, and Archives.
Fluorescent Magnifying Table Lamps
Our fluorescent table lamps have built-in 5-diopter 3”x5” lenses. The lamp head is movable for easier reading. Located in the Adult Services and in Archives.
Handheld Magnifiers with Lights
We have a supply of lighted, handheld magnifiers of different sizes and magnifications available for use in the Library. Located at the Adult Services Reference Desk, Children’s Question Desk, and Archives.
