Half-Time Circulation Clerk

Now accepting applications for a half-time Circulation Clerk position. The Circulation Clerk issues library cards, checks materials in and out, and performs other duties at the Circulation Desk. Duties demand extensive public interaction, and the clerk must continually present a positive and friendly image while handling many tasks at once in a busy, automated environment. Graduate Reference Internship in Champaign County Historical Archives

Each semester The Urbana Free Library offers a quarter-time (10 hours/week for 14 weeks) paid position as Graduate Reference Intern in the Champaign County Historical Archives. The position is awarded to an outstanding student specializing in archival administration, enrolled in the MLS program at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science. To be considered, applicants must have successfully completed LIS581, Administration and Use of Archival Materials. The position is specifically designed to give the student experience in providing reference services in an archival setting. Compensation: $13.58 per hour

Application Requirements:

  • The Urbana Free Library employment application form
  • A one-page statement of your professional goals.
  • A resume including the names and contact information of at least three references.
  • A photocopy of your undergraduate and graduate transcripts.

The position is awarded for the semester but may be renewed at the discretion of the Director of Archives.

Appointments will be on the basis of a review of the application and personal interviews at the library.
