Each month the Children's department offers a
wide variety of programs for children from birth through fifth
grade.

What's Preschool Tales? And how do I know which program is right
for my child? Read below to learn more:
- Babie's Lap Time is a half hour of music, rhymes, books, and activities for our youngest patrons, birth to 24 months. Come during the
day, or in the evening.
- Toddler Time is a half hour program for graduates of Babies Lap Time. Children ages 2-4 years are introduced to stories music, rhymes
and crafts just right for their active learning styles.
- Preschool Tales is a half-hour storytime for groups and families filled with books, music, and rhymes.
- Prairie Breezes is a concert series specifically designed for families of young children. Check the Children's Department Calendar for
details on upcoming performances.
- Read to the Dogs is a collaborative program between The Urbana Free Library and Canine Connection, designed to create a positive reading
environment for children who are learning to read, struggling to read, or would like practice reading out loud. Programs are scheduled periodically
throughout the year. Check the Children's Department Calendar for upcoming dates.
- Write On! is a creative writing workshop series for children in third grade and up, led by librarian Elaine Bearden. Write On! meets the
second Tuesday of the month from 4:00 - 5:00 PM through April. Topics range from story writing to poetry.
