The Champaign County Genealogical Society

The Archives works closely with the Champaign County Genealogical Society. The quality of the collection is due in large part to the generous donations of books, family materials, and volunteer time by members of the county historical and geneaological societies and other individuals.

Purpose:

Founded in 1968, the Champaign County Genealogical Society has a three-fold purpose: to promote genealogical and historical research; to aid in the publication and preservation of genealogical and historical records and manuscripts, and to provide programs designed to assist both the beginning and the advanced genealogists.

Meetings:

Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month in the auditorium of The Urbana Free Library, 201 West Green Street, Urbana, Illinois. The meetings are free and open to the public.
